Chinese buffets are Chinese buffets – predictable, vast, and filling. Some have hibachi stations, others have beer and wine. New China doesn’t have either, but is known for its consistency and cleanliness, and crowds having been flocking to this Surfside eatery for years and years.
In addition to the 120-item buffet, New China also offers a standard Chinese take-out menu. Among the buffet items that people get excited about are the General Tso Chicken and Sesame Chicken, as well as the Hot Wings and Teriyaki Wings. The take-out menu has all of the basics – egg rolls, dumplings, chow mein, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, etc.
They seem to take pride in keeping the place clean, which is nice. The wait staff speaks some English, but not much, so stick to relevant exchanges and you’ll be fine. During tourist season, expect a full house most of the day, but in the off-season it might just be you and a few other diners.
